Dear all, Sorry for the short notice... For the coming Monday, we will have our last lecture on the topic of experimental form of illustrations. Topics related to Graffiti and material exploration will be discussed.... After the lecture, we will do some small exercise in class. In order to do so, please bring along with you a digital camera. (a normal one is fine..., in case you don't have one, you could share with your classmate) BTW, I would also like to see the final outcome of your own DIY book, too... how is it going? have fun! Book Binding Workshop [30March]

Dear all,

Please be reminded that we are going to have a book binding workshop in the coming week. As I told you already, we will try to D.I.Y. a hardcover book which it could be used in your Kwun Tong Guidebook project.

Here' s the list of materials you will need to bring:

1. Paper -- sheets of paper to make the pages  

(If you use A4 plain paper, you may need around 40 sheets)

2. A large sheet of sturdy paper -- to make the outer cover

3. Cardboards -- to make the inner cover (make sure it is big enough for both sides)

4. A needle

5. A heavy thread (e.g. linen thread 阿麻線)

6. A awl (錐子)

7. PVA glue ／白膠漿

8. ...and brushes

9. Some fabric (紗布或其他舊布，不要太厚)

10. Clips　(5-6 pieces, depends on the size of your book)

11. old magazine with hard cover (較硬身之舊雜誌封面)

11. Masking Tape

12. A Craft knife / scissors

13. Ruler

14. Wooden block (optional)

[GuideBook Project] - After the visit...

Dear all,

thanks for your efforts during the trip.

For the next class, you are asked to :

1. Prepare a short presentation on what you have done and what you have gained during the trip. Show us pictures or sketches...

2. Think of a theme / idea to help you to develop your experiences into visuals.

3. Prepare materials needed to make the book. Bring in any tools needed and do experiments in the class.

4. Look for external visual references to get extra inspirations.

Remember that you may still need to look for more information about the area. You are encouraged to pay another visit again if necessary. Or else, you can have a look at the followings...
